After about 24 hours of travelling, I made it to Spain. I flew into Santiago de Compostela, a very well known destination point for pilgrims. I decided to stay here for 2 nights before travelling to my town. I had a feeling that I would need to re-energize after the long trip. I’m really glad I decided to stop here before heading to Cariño.
Facebook is quite an amazing thing. A very nice guy setup a page for all the people placed in Galicia in my program. We’ve been posting our travel plans and city assignments in hopes to meetup and figure out this whole moving abroad thing together. I was lucky enough to hear back from 2 people and we spend the day together. Meredith is from St. Paul and Max is from Chicago. We had a great time walking around the city, looking at the sites, and of course having some drinks and tapas. I found out that Meredith loves to salsa dance, so I plan to come back to Santiago to go dancing with her!
I took several pictures throughout the day, I hope you enjoy the first glimpse of the region I’ll be in for 8 months!

It’s seriously a crazy thing to actually be here. I’m still just trying to take it all in. I still have more to add, but for now, I’m so happy with the look of it. Thanks!
Not sure what happened to mom’s post, but she posted a comment yesterday. I am doing the same to see where it goes or if it does.
I had it set where I have to approve the comments, that’s why you didn’t see mom’s right away. I took that off, there shouldn’t be a problem unless junk messages start coming through. Love you!
