My Spanish Home

Well I’m back from my Spanish adventure. I had the most amazing time. I was in a small, seaside town in the northwest region of Spain. I met some truly great people in the town and at the school. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with incredible teachers and students. It will be a memory and an experience of a lifetime.

For one of the final projects in the 6th grade classes, they took pictures around the village. With my help and the help of the English teacher, the students created all of the photo captions. To add the final touch, they chose 2 songs for the slideshow. I did some minor photo editing and organized them. This project ended up not only being a great experience for the kids, but also a great takeaway for me to remember my beautiful home in Spain for 8 months.

Here is the final cut, I hope you enjoy!

  1. What a great idea for a student project! Loved the music, too. It’s so sweet that you’ve got this neat video as a takeaway. :)

  2. OMG! I love it. I wish I had one, too. I especially loved the parks and the grocery store… really important places for the 6th graders :) Wow, such a great idea!

  3. OMG – so weird…felt a little homesick and typed in the word ‘carino’ in google and your blog came up…that’s my home town! so weird seeing it on the internet…I seem to always think of it as a tiny microcosm nobody or nothing touches, oblivious to the outside world. London just doesn’t compare to the beauty (and the extensive fiestas and excuses to party and drink and eat) you find there. San Xiao is my fav. And the Peiral beach…Missing it so much…cant wait to go back in summer and see all my friends. Have you been back since?
